Low-Impact Classes

Parkour for the Elderly – Part 1 from Charles Moreland on Vimeo.

Last year, RocPK Director Charles Moreland made this video with our eldest member, Mauro. After spending a year going to Saturday jams in Rochester’s Manhattan Square Park, Mauro greatly improved his mobility and physicality. At 62, he can knock out full range squats and perfect sets of pushups with the rest of us.

Not all parkour is explosive or high-impact. We believe strongly in movement exploration and much of our focus is of the low-impact variety.

The Rochester Parkour gym is now offering low-impact classes, designed for participants with mobility issues or an aversion to explosive movement. This class will focus on balance and coordination drills, slow progression of strength, and will incorporate a unique blend of dance and martial art influence.

Calendar Changes for August

Students and Members,

Please take some time to look over the new class schedule effective August 1st. There are some major changes that must be addressed:

1. The Kids class has now been separated into two classes – Kids and Teens. The kid class is designed for ages 5-10. Teen class is for ages 13-17. The 3 year difference is to allow some spill over for kids who are either more mature for their age or have a strong grasp of the material and need to be accelerated.

2. The Gym is now closed on Tuesday nights.

3. There is a new Family Class! We’ve seen some crazy interest from families looking to learn parkour together! This class in particular is subject to change until we find two times that works well for all our members. Please send us your availability by emailing info@rochesterparkour.com

4. Invitation only classes for teacher instruction are now being added. If you’re looking to help out and teach, please email charles@rochesterparkour.com.

5. Pricing has also been updated.

Thank you all for making Rochester Parkour a wonderful place to train and grow!

Charles Moreland

Ninja Warrior – 7/2

Last ninja warrior was a huge success. This time, we’ve got a new course and new rules to help make it more of an experience!

The event starts at 5pm (after the big Leave No Trace). Participants must RSVP to charles@rochesterparkour.com and pay $10. The event is free to watch.

Participants will get 2 shots at the course. We will be using a scratch system and timing the course. A fall generates a scratch. Your goal is to complete the course as fast as you can with as few scratches as possible.

The winner of the event will be given a free membership and a bonus prize (to be announced at the event)!

New Promotion for Members

Have you gotten/renewed your June Membership? If not, here’s a good reason why.

Starting this month, members will receive a small RocPK Membership card. Everytime you bring in a new person to open gym, we’ll punch your card. Bring in 5 new people and you get the next month half off! That’s a $15 unlimited open gym month. This is not a timed promotion so if it takes a couple months to do it, no problem just hold onto the card.

In addition, if you refer 3 people who become members, you get your next month free. Again, this is not a race or a timed thing. If at some point 3 people mention your name when they sign up, you get that next month free.

These promotions are stackable, meaning if you get both in the same month, we’ll hold off the 1/2 off month until the month after your free one.

Sponsorship and Donor Program

Rochester Parkour believes that disciplined movement can change lives. Every day, our instruction helps change and mold people into stronger, well-disciplined, and multi-faceted human beings. You can be a part of this change by becoming a Donor or a Sponsor of Rochester Parkour.

Donor Program

Reach Higher

Through hard work and dedication, Andrew Clocksin (age 16), can scale an 11 foot wall!

Becoming a donor is a wonderful thing. A donor is a person who understands the transformative power of parkour and movement. They are people who believe in Rochester Parkour and our commitment to the Greater Rochester Community. Donors donate money to Rochester Parkour out of the kindness of their heart and use that donation to say that they want to see us continue our growth and expand our outreach.

Donation money is used to funnel back into the community by funding our service projects, free workshops, and building projects that better serve members. Donations can be a private venture, but we’d like everyone to know who believes in us! Let us know if you’d like your name on our Donor Wall in the gym!

Becoming a donor is easy. Visit our homepage and donate money through Paypal or send an email to charles@rochesterparkour.com

Sponsorship Program

Community Clean Up

We teach respect for self, others, and for environment. Pictured here are members volunteering by cleaning up junk in Manhattan Square Park

The Rochester Parkour Sponsorship Program is geared toward local Rochester business that are proud of our community and want to give back and continue to nourish the youth in Rochester. Sponsors pledge money that will then fund a local high school student’s parkour and movement education – education that not only improves physicality and health, but also breeds strong-willed and strong-minded community members.

Parkour changes lives and you or your business can be an outspoken sponsor of that change. Help us make a difference in the lives of Rochester’s youth.

Sponsors will be published on our dedicated Sponsors page for the length of time their pledge lasts and will be allowed to write their name on the Sponsorship Plaque on the gym wall.

Contact Charles@rochesterparkour.com if you are interested in helping in this cause!
